Being self-employed means you are responsible for registering as a self-employed person and completing and annual tax return.

Just because you are responsible, doesn't mean you have to do these things on your own!

If you aren't already registered, then you will need to tell HMRC that you have started working as a self-employed person in order to get your Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR number).
